Erenhot port handles 10,000 China-Europe freight trains

THE port of Erenhot, in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has logged 10,000 China-Europe freight trains since the service launched, reports London's Port Technology.

"It took over eight years for the number of China-Europe freight trains handled by the port to reach 5,000, and only less than two years for it to grow from 5,000 to 10,000," said Qin Zhicang.

The port serves 58 China-Europe freight train routes, which reach over 60 destinations across 10 countries.

Meanwhile, China ports moved 142 million TEU in H1 2022.

In December 2021, China-Europe freight trains operated by two ports in Northeast China transported 436,632 TEU, marking a new record on the Eastern corridor.
