Container's "ID card"! Do you know him?

Container is the key transport carrier in the process of cross-border logistics, and effective management is very important. In order to facilitate the identification, management and handover of containers in international transportation, as well as the preparation of documents and information transmission, the international organization for Standardization (ISO 6346-1995) has promulgated the code, identification and marking of containers, which clearly stipulates the contents of containers and the type of marking Size, mark location, etc. According to this standard, container marking can be divided into two categories: mandatory marking and optional marking. As the "necessary mark" is the content of containers that need to be marked, let's focus on the following.

Container's "ID card"! Do you know them all?

There are two kinds of marks stipulated by ISO: necessary mark and optional mark. Each kind of mark is divided into identification mark and operation mark. Specifically, there are container owner code, container number or sequence number, check number, container size and type code on the container.

1、 Essential marks

1. Identification mark. It consists of box main code, equipment identification code, sequence number and check number.

(1) Owner code. It is the three capital Latin letters registered by the container owner with the international container Bureau. For example, one of the container owner codes of Maersk Group's own containers is "MSK".

(2) Equipment identification number. It is the fourth letter of the container owner code, which is used to indicate the type of container. The most common one is "U", which is used to indicate all conventional containers. In addition, "J" refers to the container with disassembly, "Z" refers to the trailer and chassis of the container.

(3) Sequence number, also known as "box number" or "registration code", is composed of 6 Arabic letters. If the significant number is not 6 digits, use "0" to make up 6 digits before the significant number to distinguish it from the container of the same container owner, such as "053842".

(4) Check the numbers. Also known as "check digit", check digit is used to verify whether the main code and sequence number of the box are accurate. It is obtained by computer processing. It is located after the sequence number and is represented by an Arabic numeral and a box.

2. Job marking. It includes the following three parts

(1) Rated weight and self weight mark. The rated weight is the total weight of the container, and the dead weight is the weight of the empty container (or the weight of the empty container), which should be expressed in kg and LB at the same time;

(2) Air land water intermodal container marking. Due to the strength of the container, it can only be stacked in two layers. Therefore, the international organization for standardization has stipulated a special mark for the container, which is black and located in the upper left corner of the side wall and end wall, and the minimum size of the mark is: 127mm high, 355mm long, and the font height of the letter mark is at least 76mm;

(3) Electric shock warning mark on the top of the container. The sign is a triangle with yellow bottom and various colors, which is generally set at the tank container and the escalator on the top of the container to warn the climber of electric shock.

2、 Optional marker

1. Identification mark. It includes:

(1) Country and region codes, such as CN for China and us for the United States;

(2) Size and type code (box code).

2. Job marking. It includes:

(1) Super height mark, which is marked with black number and frame on the Yellow bottom. This mark is pasted on the lower left corner of each side of the container, about 0.6m away from the bottom of the container, and it is pasted below the main mark of the container. All containers over 2.6m in height shall be marked with this mark;

(2) International Union of Railways mark. This mark can be obtained for containers conforming to the provisions of the International Union of railways. This sign is a necessary passage sign for transporting containers on European Railways. The upper "IC" represents the international railway union, and the lower number represents the code of each railway company. The triangle overweight mark of "super heavy" should be set for the overweight container (the total weight is more than 30.48t).

3、 Traffic signs

In the process of transportation, the container can pass through or enter its transit smoothly. The container must be pasted with various traffic signs according to the requirements. Otherwise, the cumbersome certification procedures must be handled to prolong the turnover time of the container.

The main passage marks on containers are: safety qualification license, container approval license, insect proof treatment board, inspection qualification emblem, international railway union mark, etc.
