ACCORDING to the latest data from WorldACD Market Data, global air cargo tonnages in June have continued the flat trend observed since the beginning of the month, while average rates have shown a slight decline, reports the American Journal of Transportation.

For week 25 (June 19 to 25), there was a small decrease of two per cent in tonnages and average worldwide air cargo prices compared to the previous week.

This trend has persisted since the start of June, based on WorldACD's data, which covers over 400,000 weekly transactions.

When comparing weeks 24 and 25 with the preceding two weeks (2Wo2W), overall tonnages remained stable compared to the combined total of weeks 22 and 23.

Capacity increased one per cent, but average worldwide rates experienced a slight decline of one per cent.

On a regional level, most origin regions showed stable tonnages on a 2Wo2W basis, except for Central & South America, which saw a decrease of five per cent.

Notable decreases were observed in tonnages from Central & South America to Europe (down nine per cent) and from Africa to Europe (down seven per cent), while tonnages from North America to Asia Pacific increased five per cent.
